When we create custom belt buckle or jewelry designs the price is based on the type of design a customer is asking for and the metal used for casting:

Types of designs can be broken down into the following:
1) A design we feel we could continue to market and sell on our website.
2) A design we would not be able to sell ourselves but has the potential of having multiple orders from the customer or company.
3) A design that is a one of a kind and will only have at most one to a couple of orders. (contact us with your elusive design idea for a quote)

For #1 and #2, the estimated price would be the same or only slightly over the retail cost of one of my jewelry designs or buckles.(how mush over the current retail price of a similar design would depend on the complexity and detail of the commissioned design)
For #3, the price can be much more because of the one of a kind nature of the design.

The design cost is also based on the metal chosen:
Brass or White Bronze (lower cost metal but usually only used in larger designs like buckles.)
Sterling Silver (higher cost precious metal which can be used in all designs.)

Turn Around Time for a Custom Belt Buckle or Jewelry Design

The turn around time for a custom handmade belt buckle or jewelry design really depends on the complexity of the design, its size and how busy we are at the time. If we are able to concentrate fully on the design we can usually get one done (from approved concept to finished piece) in around two weeks or less. If the order included multiple castings the time line could be longer.
